Detectives Make First Degree Murder Arrest in Danny McCalston Case
On 09-18-2017, the Nash County Sheriff's Office responded to the 7900 block of Edwards Rd, Castalia, NC in reference to a subject that had been shot. Since then, Nash County Sheriff’s Office Detectives followed-up on several leads in the investigation.
On Monday 09-25-2017, after a thorough investigation, the Nash County Sheriff's Office arrested Joseph Anstead for the murder of Danny McCalston.
Anstead has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and is being held in the Nash County Jail under no bond. First appearance is set for 09/26/2017 in Nashville District Court. A photo of Joseph Anstead is attached to this press release.
