FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On September 23, 2017 at approximately 1:25 PM, officers from the Angels Camp Police Department were dispatched to a reported fight in front of the Pet Bath House located at 172 South Main Street.

Witnesses of the fight reported that a male and female approached the "Justice for Cici" protesters in front of the Pet Bath House and began yelling at the protesters to leave the area. The unknown female flipped over the protesters table and struck a female protester numerous times with a closed fist. Another protester ran to the first protester's aid and began yelling at the unknown female to stop. The female then began yelling at the second protester, and struck the second protester two times in the face. Both protesters suffered minor injuries.

The male and female ran from the scene of the fight after a third protester retrieved a stick from her vehicle, held it up in the air, and yelled at them to leave. The male and female ran to a maroon colored PT Cruiser with an unknown license plate and left driving west bound on Stockton Road.

The female is described as approximately 5'6" tall, 140 pounds, witnesses could not provide an approximate age or ethnicity. She was wearing a dark shoulder length wig and a white tank top at the time of the incident.

The male is described as being approximately 25 years old, heavy set, with dark hair. He was wearing a black beanie cap and a black hooded sweat shirt at the time of the incident. Due to conflicting witness descriptions, an approximate height is not known.

Officers spoke to Vonna Hughes at her residence. She denied any involvement or knowledge of the fight.

Officers are currently investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance footage from cameras that are in the area.
