Fatal Car/Truck Traffic Crash



Sheriff Richard Behnke of the Cass County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies responded to a fatal traffic crash on Robinson Rd. south of Buffalo Lane in Cass County's Jefferson Township. This crash occurred on 9-22-17 at 3:15pm. Investigation showed that a vehicle driven by Daniel Albert Dolan (52 yrs of Cassopolis) lost control going around a curve on Robinson Rd. and crossed the center line of the roadway. After crossing the center line, Dolan's vehicle was struck broadside by a large grain hauling truck. Dolan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Conner Wright (23 yrs of Vandalia) was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Assisting the Sheriff's Office on scene were Cassopolis Area Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance and True's Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
