Suspects Linked To Area Vehicle Burglaries Arrested

Yesterday morning, Ripon Police Officers conducted a traffic stop at the Ripon Motel on a silver 2003 Buick Lasaber that was found to have expired and suspended registration. Upon contacting the two occupants in the vehicle, they were both found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest through the Stockton Police Department. The driver was also found to be on searchable probation.

Methamphetamine, a replica firearm and stolen property were located in the vehicle. Ripon Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Detectives quickly linked some of the stolen property to vehicle burglaries in Modesto and Santa Rosa.

The driver of the vehicle, Robert Lenton Ruiz (45) of Stockton Ca. was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included: Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Violation of Court Order, Destroying or Concealing Evidence, a Misdemeanor Vandalism Warrant and Driving on a Suspended Drivers License.

The passenger in the vehicle, Elisa Marie Cabonios (39) of Stockton Ca. was also taken into custody without incident. She was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included: Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Destroying or Concealing Evidence and a Petty Theft Warrant.
