Covington Man Arrested in Overnight Stabbing of Roommate
Chief Tim Lentz announces that last night, at approximately 11:15 PM, the Covington Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of E. Magee St. Responding officers found multiple subjects outside the residence, including a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the head.
Witnesses identified one of the men on scene, Timothy Logan, as the suspect in the stabbing. The two men were reportedly arguing over rent, when Logan became enraged and stabbed the victim in the head with a kitchen knife. When the victim screamed for help, other roommates subdued Logan and called 911.
The victim was initially transported to an area hospital in serious condition. He was later transferred to a south-shore hospital for further treatment. Timothy Logan was taken into custody and transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail, where he was booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder.
