Home Invasion Suspect Arrested

On September 14th, 2017, at 8:46 P.M., the El Cerrito Police Department received a call of a burglary in progress at an apartment complex located at the north end of the city. Upon arrival on scene, officers learned that an unknown male climbed into an apartment through an open window and awoke the resident. The suspect brandished a knife, attempted to sexually assault the victim, and then demanded the victim turn over their valuables. During the incident, a roommate arrived, knocked on the door, and startled the suspect. The suspect exited the apartment through a backdoor and jumped down several floors. An exhaustive search of the area utilizing a police K-9 was conducted, but the suspect was not located.
On September 15th, at 3:00 P.M., Detectives from the El Cerrito Police Department identified and arrested San Pablo resident, Jermine K. Allen for the crime. Allen was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility where he is being held without bail for the following charges:
Assault with intent to commit rape
Kidnapping
False imprisonment
Burglary
Robbery
Terrorist Threats
Violation of Probation
