Yesterday the town experienced a power failure due to a few issues.  TDX Adak Generating personnel, with the assistance of other local agencies and companies are working together to troubleshoot and restore power to affected areas as quickly and safely as possible.

We are aware that communication systems are impacted at this time.  Cell-to-Cell calls, within the island are working for AT&T and Windy City Cellular customers at this time.  GCI to GCI cell phones on and off island appear to be working with some interruptions.  Landline calls on and off the island are not working at this time, however are being addressed.

At this time we do have power to the airport.  While there are communication issues aircraft should be able to fly as scheduled, with some communication issues to be expected and will be addressed as appropriate.

We will update you with any developments as they happen.  Please help your neighbor and thank you for your understanding.

If you have a generator and can safely use, please plug in freezers and other critical equipment. We will provide further instructions later as we know more regarding the situation.
