Clayton County Public Schools Will Re-open Tommorow. Sheriff Victor Hill
Jonesboro- Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) will resume a regular schedule tomorrow – Thursday, September 14. This decision was made after continuing to work with county and city government officials along with Georgia Power and the Department of Transportation to ensure a safe return to school was possible.
“While we continue to monitor situations as they arise, we ask all stakeholders to be patient as we return to a normal routine following this unusual weather event,” said Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, CCPS Superintendent of Schools. “We have asked our principals to be sensitive to attendance issues for both students and employees.”
The district has decided to postpone the Thursday, September 14, Elementary School Open House Curriculum Night. The new date is Thursday, October 5, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Athletic events will take place as scheduled with the following exceptions:

All Middle School football games, originally set for Tuesday, September 12, will take place Saturday, September 16.

Drew vs Mount Zion-Jonesboro, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 14, will be played on Saturday, September 16, in Tara Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
Parents should check with individual schools for information about activities and events.
