Local Business Leaders Step Up to Support Police Officers 
Recently several local businesses approached the police department, asking how they could help protect our officers by providing specialized safety equipment that would not normally be provided in the police budget. After a series of communications with department staff, rifle rated vests and modern ballistic helmets were identified as items that were needed to help enhance officer protection.
Nine rifle rated vests and 12 modern ballistic helmets were purchased by three local businesses. Duct Testers and Dean Uecker – Farmers Insurance, donated funds to be used for the purchase of ballistic vests. Better Built Truss donated funds to be used for the purchase of ballistic helmets.
The officers who are being issued this enhanced safety equipment are very thankful for the support they continue to receive from our community.
