**Tropical Storm Warning - Update**

Tropical Storm Irma is an ongoing, life-threatening, weather event and Morgan County will continue to experience significant rain and sustained winds up to 35 mph through the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

Wind gusts are expected to exceed 60 mph throughout this evening. Morgan County currently has approximately 5,000 residents without power with additional outages expected. Emergency services personnel have responded to multiple calls for trees down and power lines in the roadway causing most roadways to be blocked at this time. As night falls, an increased danger exists on our roadways as motorists will not be able to see downed trees or power lines.

Therefore, Morgan County officials are requesting a voluntary curfew for all non-essential travel throughout Morgan County beginning this evening at 6:00 p.m. until tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 7:00 a.m.
