An emergency shelter has been set up in Gate City Virginia at the Gate City Middle School next to Gate City High School.
Persons not needing shelter but needing special assistance, such as fuel, kerosene or water, should call Scott County Offices at (276) 386-6521 or the dispatch office at (276) 386-9111. The better number to call for non-emergency situations is the county office.
Crews continue to work to restore power in a 3-state area. The number without power in Scott County has increased from 7,400 Saturday evening to 8,700 on Sunday.
