Traffic stop leads to the arrest of duo. 
On September 10, 2017, at 12:11 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Gray 2005 passenger car for traveling left of center on Grave Street in Patoka, Indiana. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith recognized passenger Nathaniel Wheatley age 19 of Patoka who had an outstanding warrant and placed him into custody. Deputy Smith then began a roadside investigation which resulted in the driver 20 year old Michael Arbeiter of Patoka being taken into custody for possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Both individuals were taken to the Gibson County Jail. Mr. Wheatley was booked into the jail for his Misdemeanor warrant for Possession of Paraphernalia. He remains in custody on a $450 bond. Mr. Arbeiter was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He remains in custody on a $650 bond.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
