AT 3:30 PM today Sheriff P.J. Tanner will hold a press conference. The press conference will be at the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office headquarters building, Beaufort in the training room on the second floor. The media, along with local government and elected officials are invited and enouraged to attend. The press conference will be broadcasted live on the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Facebook page and on YouTube through the County Channel. A link to the YouTube site will be sent out prior to the press conference. Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management continues to closely monitor Hurricane Irma and we will keep you advised of any developments that may impact Beaufort County.

Please avoid rumors and misinformation spread through social media from unofficial and unreliable sources. Below are list of official and reliable sources of information where you can have your questions answered throughout Hurricane Irma:

1. Beaufort County Hurricane Information Line 1-843-255-4000:  For any Hurricane Irma inquiries, call takers will be manning phones to answer questions. The phone lines will be manned Friday from 8am until 5pm. Then again on Saturday from 7am throughout the duration of Hurricane Irma.
2. 211 : United Way services for local assistance can be found by dialing toll free 211 on your phone. This service is available 24 hours a day/365 days a year.
3. SC Evacuation Routes: SCDOT interactive map and evacuation routes for the entire state.
4. The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette: The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and many other governmental entities have been working closely with The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette to provide answer to questions from readers.
