One hurt in Car/Tree Crash



Sheriff Richard Behnke of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a one car traffic crash on Kelsey Lake St. near Griffiths Road in Cass County's Penn Township. This crash occurred on 9-8-17 at 7:55am. Investigation showed that a SUV driven by John Sylvia (23 yrs of Cassopolis) was west bound on Kelsey Lake St. when he lost control on the wet road and left the roadway. Sylvia's SUV struck a tree on the south side of Kelsey Lake St. Sylvia was injured and was transported to Bronson Memorial Hospital via LifeCare Ambulance. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Seatbelt use is unknown at this time. Assisting at the crash scene was Penn Township Fire Department. The crash remains under investigation.
