INCIDENT:  2017-14997  Theft, Credit Card Theft
 
DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  7/21/2017 (Reported at 1612 Hours)
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Trader Joe’s, 3528 U.S. Route 1

Victim: 61 year old, White female
             Resident of West Windsor, NJ 08550

DETAILS:  Ptl. Montgomery investigated a Theft and Credit Card Theft that occurred at the Trader Joe’s where the following was reported: The Victim and her husband shopped at the store for approximately one hour. When she went to pay for her items, she realized that her wallet containing her credit cards was missing. While canceling her credit cards, she discovered that $2,000.00 in fraudulent charges had already been made. The victim recalled that while at the store, a Black or Hispanic female with a thin build and blonde hair, was lingering around her cart and kept asking her questions about produce.

DETAILS:   Ptl. Robles investigated a Burglary to a motor vehicle and Theft where the following was reported:  The victim had left his car keys in New York City, so he left his vehicle unlocked in the parking lot so he could access his vehicle. The next day, he observed both front car doors ajar, and upon checking his car saw the contents of his center console and glove box scattered around the passenger compartment. The only thing he noted to have been stolen was a bottle of Calvin Klein cologne.

Suspect:  White male in his 20’s or 30’s with short brown hair.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Zicha investigated a Simple Assault where the following was reported:  The Victim was stopped behind another vehicle at a red traffic signal at the Washington Road Circle and Route 1. When the signal turned green, the vehicle in front of him, a green Ford or Chevrolet SUV, proceeded forward and then stopped. The Victim then beeped his horn at the SUV. The driver of the SUV waved his arm out the window and pulled into the Getty gas station. The Victim followed him and pulled up alongside the driver’s side of the SUV. The Suspect then yelled something at him and sprayed him in the face with pepper (OC) spray. The Suspect then drove away.

Accused:  Steven Vega, 23 year old White male
                 Resident of Millville, NJ 08332
 
OFFICER:  Ptl. M. Nagy #561
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Nagy and Ptl. Knox were conducting a speed enforcement detail on U.S. Route 1 North and Carnegie Center Blvd. Steven Vega, was operating his silver Acura at 76 MPH in 55 MPH zone and stopped for the speeding violation. Vega told Ptl. Nagy that he lost his wallet and driver’s license a week prior, and could only verbally provide his name, date of birth, and address. Vega then completed a Certificate of Proper Address swearing that he was “Luis Vega”.  Investigation later determined that Vega provided a false name to Ptl. Nagy, and that he had a warrant for his arrest from Bridgeport, NJ in the amount of $289.00, and that his driver’s license was suspended. Vega was processed at WWPD Headquarters and then transported to the Mercer County Correctional Center.

                 Resident of Trenton, NJ 08611

DETAILS:  Ptl. Cuomo responded to Target on a report of a Shoplifter in custody. Investigation revealed the following: Bryana A. Johnson was observed by Asset Protection selecting cosmetic items from the shelf and concealing them into her handbag. She then left the store without paying for any of the items that had a total value of $89.33.  Johnson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at the West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Sgt. McMahon responded to Walmart on the report of a Shoplifter in custody.  Investigation revealed the following:  Alberto Hernandez selected sixteen (16) items of clothing from the Men’s department, including multiple packs of underwear, with a total value of $142.23. He then exited the store without paying for any of the items. He had also been previously given a “No Trespassing” order by Walmart for Shoplifting in the past. Hernandez was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at the West Windsor Municipal Court.

Victim:  White male, 28 years old

DETAILS:  Patrol Units responded to the Lukoil gas station on the report of an individual whose foot had been run over by a vehicle. Investigation revealed that the Victim, who was intoxicated, approached and asked a “skinny” white male smoking in his vehicle for a cigarette. The suspect refused and words were exchanged. Shortly thereafter, the suspect reversed his vehicle, and while doing so, ran over the Victims foot. The Victim was transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment of his injuries.

DETAILS:  Patrol units responded to Wegmans on the report of a shoplifting in progress. The Accused, Vanessa Reed, was observed by Wegmans Asset Protection concealing various Dove brand toiletries and two bottles of Grey Goose vodka into a backpack. Reed then paid for a case of water and bananas, but did not pay for any of the items in her backpack. When she exited the store she was met by responding officers who took her into custody. Reed was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at the West Windsor Municipal Court.
