Police Blotter August 21st through August 28th

August 21st

Shoplifting - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 0914 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft at Walgreens. The suspect, described as a black male in his late 40’s, was wearing a blue long sleeve short stole paper products. He fled in a white SUV.

August 22nd

Auto Burglary - 400 block of Bonnie Dr:
At 0822 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect smashed the rear window of a vehicle, entered the car and rifled a purse but there was no loss.

Shoplifting - 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 0946 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft at Walgreens. The officer arrived on scene quickly and noticed the suspect, a 22-year-old transient male was now inside. He was identified and a large quantity of stolen canine flea control medicine was recovered. He was booked and cited.

Grand Theft - 180 EC Plaza:
At 1345 hours, a suspect described as a black male adult 5’04” medium build, bald, dark complexion, gray sweatshirt and blue jeans entered the business and proceeded to the eyeglass display. The suspect grabbed the entire display. One of the employees told him to stop and he told her to get back. He fled to an awaiting vehicle.

Attempted Robbery - 10422 San Pablo Ave:
At 1555 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject threateningly demanding a cell phone from an employee at the Martial Arts Studio. The suspect reached into his waistband and took an offensive stance. The employee refused to relinquish the phone and fled. A 35-year-old transient male was located and arrested. He was booked and transported to the MDF.

August 23rd

Stolen Vehicle - 7500 Potrero Ave:
At 1634 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen white 1999 Chevrolet van with “Aquastar” written on the side. The van was stolen overnight.

Possession of a controlled Substance – Sutter Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 0043 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 55-year-old male from El Cerrito for being in possession of a controlled substance. The male was booked and then released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest, Probation Violation, False Info to PO, Poss. Of Paraphernalia – Orchard Ave / S.59th St:
At 0231 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 45-year-old male from Oakland, after the male gave the officer false information and was founded to be in possession of a glassing smoking device. The male was also wanted out of Contra Costa County. The male was booked and then taken to county jail.

August 24th

Threats – 6300 block of Conlon Ave:
At 0806 hours, officers were conducting a traffic collision investigation. A 40-year-old subject began to threaten to shoot the officers and then run back into his apartment. There have been numerous complaints about the subject in the neighborhood causing disturbances and using racial epithets. The subject was later contacted and placed under arrest. He was booked and transported to the MDF.

Shoplifting - 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1456 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft at CVS. A subject stole over the counter medication and fled the store. The officer later located the suspect, a 26-year-old Oregon man at San Pablo Ave. neat Potrero Ave. By then, the man had changed his clothes and donned a wig. He was detained, identified, placed under citizen’s arrest and after booking, released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 2349 hours, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle stop and arrested on of the occupants, a 48-year-old male from Oakland, for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and then taken to county jail.

August 25th

Auto Burglary – 2300 block of Mono Ave:
An unknown suspect shattered the rear driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole tools. The incident occurred between 8/24 0730 hours to 8/25 0645 hours.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Carlson Blvd:
At 0920 hours an El Cerrito police corporal conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 27-year-female from Richmond for three outstanding warrants. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the County Jail in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Portola Dr:
At 0959 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested 27-year-female from Richmond for an outstanding warrant. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the County Jail in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest – Peerless Ave. / Cutting Blvd:
At 1104 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 46-year-old male from Novato for an outstanding warrant. The male was released in the field on a citation.

Warrant Arrest - Lassen St / Santa Clara Ave:
At 0025 hours an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle check and contacted a 46-year-old Oakland man. It was determined the man had a warrant out of the State of Nevada. The warrant was confirmed and the man was booked into County Jail.

Evading - San Pablo Ave / Panama Ave:
At 0030 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for vehicle code violations. The driver drove away when the officer exited his vehicle to make contact. A pursuit ensued on surface streets in Richmond and El Cerrito. The pursuit was terminated when the suspect vehicle began driving too recklessly.

Domestic Battery - 1900 block of Key Blvd:
At 0210 hours officers were sent to Del Norte BART to contact the victim of an assault. The victim had flagged down a BART Officer and reported she was assaulted nearby. It was determined the victim had been assaulted by her former boyfriend at a residence in the 2900 block of Key Blvd. During the assault the victim received injuries to her face. The suspect was not located at the scene.

August 26th

Auto Burglary – 6050 EC Plaza:
An unknown suspect shattered the victim’s right passenger window and stole a backpack. The incident occurred between 0900-1000 hours.

Brandishing a Weapon – 11861 San Pablo Ave:
At 1635 hours, a suspect brandished a knife in a threatening manner at the victim during a verbal altercation. The suspect fled on foot, northbound on San Pablo Ave. The suspect was described as a white male adult, heavyset, 5’10”, bald, wearing a dirty white t-shirt and green shorts.

Arrest for Driving Under the Influence and Child Endangerment – San Pablo Ave / Stockton Ave:
At 1654 hours, officer responded to a two vehicle collision in the area. A 37-year-old male was driving his truck and boat, intoxicated, with his three children inside the vehicle. The male rear ended another vehicle which was stopped for the red light. No injuries were reported. The male refused to cooperate with the investigation and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and later transported to County Jail in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest - Key Blvd / Cutting Blvd:
At 2323 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 36-year-old San Pablo woman for a misdemeanor warrant. The woman was booked into County Jail.

DUI - San Pablo Ave / Eastshore Blvd:
At 0210 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 22-year-old Richmond man for DUI. The man was booked into County Jail.

August 27th

Vandalism, Resisting arrest – 11000 block of San Pablo Ave:
Officers were dispatched to a residential care home after a 25-year-old transient female shattered her grandmother’s television. When being placed under arrest, the woman tensed up and refused to cooperate with officers’ orders. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting - 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 1849 hours an officer was flagged down by Safeway Management in regard to a theft that had just occurred. Management followed the suspect to Del Norte BART where they were detained and found to be in possession of over $400 of stolen merchandise from the store. A 21-year-old San Francisco man, a 19-year-old San Francisco man and a female juvenile were all placed under citizen arrest. They were transported to ECPD and released on citations.

Auto Burglary - 11344 San Pablo Ave (Denny’s):
At 2226 hours the victim reported his vehicle was entered via a window smash and a black backpack and a speaker were stolen off of the rear seat of the vehicle. The incident occurred on 08/27/17 between 0900 and 1015 hrs.

Narcotics Arrest - Oak St / Central Ave:
At 0208 hours an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 36-year-old Albany man for possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The man was cite released from ECPD.
