Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Friday, 9/1/17, through Monday, 9/4/17.

Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 9/1/2017, through Monday, 9/4/2017.

9/1/2017

-Hwy 114 at Veretto Rd, Levelland: Property Damage. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a rock thrown from a mower to a car window. The individuals exchanged information and a civil agreement was reached between the parties.

-3900 blk Sunrise Ln, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to a call of an individual dumping items onto his family member’s property. The individuals live on the same property and civil remedies were explained to all parties. The deputy assisted in cleaning up the items.

-Hwy 385 at FM 2306, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy stopped to check on a motorist in the area. The driver was waiting on someone who was coming to aid with a tire issue. No further assistance was needed.

-800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies assisted with a vehicle crash in the area. DPS and Levelland Fire responded to the scene and deputies assisted with traffic control. One individual was transported with injuries.

-800 blk College Ave, Levelland: Assist Agency. Deputies assisted Levelland PD with a scene in the area.

-Hwy 114 at FM 3261, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to locate a reckless driver on Hwy 114 traveling eastbound from Levelland. The area was searched all the way to the Lubbock County line and the vehicle was not located.

9/2/2017

-100 blk Mason Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a male subject asking children to get into his vehicle near a residence. A vehicle description and a description of the individual was obtained and the information was also communicated to Lubbock County agencies. An investigation into the activity is underway.

-Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Opdyke West: Grass Fire. A deputy was dispatched to a small grass fire along the roadway. The deputy put the fire out with an extinguisher, and the Fire Department also responded.

-500 blk Tim, Levelland: Deceased Individual. Deputies responded to a reported death at a residence. The Justice of the Peace also responded and cause was determined to be natural. No criminal case was opened, although a report was completed.

-Hwy 385 at Terry Co. line: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to locate a loose bull in the area. The bull was located and was taken from the roadway.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Intoxicated Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a possible intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located at the gas station, but was unoccupied. Deputies searched for the driver but no one was located.

-1800 blk FM 300, Levelland: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to an alarm at a business in the area. The business was checked and found to be secure. A representative met with deputies and advised nothing appeared to be disturbed.

-100 blk Lakeview, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a residence regarding a verbal disturbance. No offenses were reported and the disturbance was verbal only. Parties voluntarily separated for the night.

-Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Opdyke West: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area to locate a reckless driver traveling eastbound. The area was checked all the way to the Lubbock County line and the vehicle was not located.

-200 blk FM 1490, Levelland: Welfare Check. A deputy responded to a residence regarding a welfare check of a resident. The deputy attempted to make contact with the homeowner but no one was at the residence.

-300 blk W. 5th St, Sundown: Noise Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a loud vehicle complaint in the area. When the deputy arrived, the vehicle was unoccupied.

9/3/2017

-500 blk Sylvan, Anton: Burglary. A deputy completed a report related to a burglary offense that occurred during the day on Sunday. Several small items were reported missing. The investigation into the offense is ongoing.

-Hwy 385 at Terry County line: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a loose bull in the area. The owner was located and the bull was secured.

-FM 1585 at Owl Rd, Ropesville: Welfare Check. A deputy observed multiple vehicles along the roadway in the area. One of the vehicles was disabled and being loaded onto a trailer to be taken to the owner’s residence.

-FM 2130 at King Rd, Anton: Welfare Check. A deputy observed several vehicles driving in the area and stopped to speak with the individuals. They were repairing a fence and had secured loose livestock back on the owner’s property.

-100 blk Ellwood, Anton: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to locate a reckless driver in the area. The vehicle was located and the driver was released. No offenses were reported.

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area to locate loose donkeys. The area was checked and no loose animals were located. The deputy met with several neighbors who were outside near the reported location and they did not observe any livestock walking loose.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Welfare Check. A deputy stopped to check on a motorist near the intersection. He was waiting on another driver, but was transported to his residence by the deputy.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2378, Smyer: Welfare Check. A deputy stopped to check on a motorist in the area. The individuals were lost, and directions were given to the address they were looking for.

9/4/2017

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Criminal Mischief. A deputy completed a report related to a window being shot at with a pellet gun. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a report of two donkeys loose in the area. The donkeys were located, however no owner was located. The animals were housed and estray notices are being drafted to be posted.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Terroristic Threat. A deputy met with a complainant related to a report of terroristic threat. The complainant advised he was threatened near Hwy 385 and FM 597 by another motorist. A report was completed related to the incident.

-Cactus Dr at FM 3261, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist at the scene of a vehicle collision. Traffic control was conducted until Troopers arrived.

-100 blk Lacey Lane, Opdyke West: Suspicious Person. Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person in the area. The individual was located and a criminal trespass warning was issued.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
