Crime Watch / Community Meetings

The Upper Macungie Township Police Department is proud to announce that we will be hosting three Crime Watch / Community Meetings this September. These meetings will enable officers to update the community on current crime trends in their neighborhoods, offer suggestions on how to keep you and your family safe, and lastly, to hear feedback from residents on problems they are currently experiencing in the community.

Ten years ago, Crime Watch in Upper Macungie Township soared as residents joined with the police department to share crime information and keep their neighborhoods safe. Eventually, this led to a partnership with Nixle (www.nixle.com), an internet based crime alert dissemination application. Currently, over 4500 residents subscribe to receive Nixle notifications, which alerts them to everything from local crimes to lost pets.

In revitalizing our community’s crime watch program, our goal is to create the Upper Macungie Township Crime Watch Association. This association, which will consist of police officers and residents, will act as a focus group and advisory panel for all of the smaller watch groups that exist in the township. In addition, this group will discuss ideas as to how to better reach the residents of Upper Macungie Township so that we can continue to grow our great relationship, as well as offer input on what programs they are interested in seeing the Police Department host.

These meetings will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Breinigsville Park, 8935 Breinigsville Rd, and Breinigsville from 6pm to 7pm, September 13, 2017 at Upper Macungie Park, 1625 PA-Rt.100, and Fogelsville from 6pm to 7pm, and September 26, 2017 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane, from 6pm to 7pm.

There are no fees or registration required for these meetings. Just come out to the event that is nearest to your home or that fits your schedule best. We look forward to meeting you!
