Cooling centers open through Monday due to high temperatures. Take precautions to stay safe in the heat.

In anticipation of triple digit temperatures throughout Monday, Labor
Day, the City of Pleasanton is activating two cooling centers and would like to remind everyone to take extra precautions in the extreme heat.

WHERE: Pleasanton Public Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave. and Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd.
WHEN: Friday, September 1, 2017-Monday, September 4, 2017

Friday, Sept. 1, noon-9 p.m. Pleasanton Senior Center 925-931-5365
(transportation available until 4 p.m.)

Saturday, Sept. 2, noon–9 p.m. Pleasanton Senior Center 925-931-5365 (transportation not available)

Sunday, Sept. 3, noon-5 p.m. Pleasanton Public Library 925-931-3400
(transportation not available)

Monday, Sept. 4, noon-5 p.m. Pleasanton Senior Center 925-931-5365 (transportation not available)

The Library can also be used during regular business hours as a place to escape the extreme heat and will be open on Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

WHY: Temperatures are expected to soar over the long holiday weekend through Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 4. Please be sure to drink plenty of water and minimize strenuous activity during the peak heat hours of the afternoon and wear light-colored clothing.
