Mission Blvd. is closed in both directions between I680 (north/Mission San Jose area) to Driscoll Rd.
At 2:47 p.m., officers responded to a major rollover collision on Mission Blvd at I680 (north). A large big rig overturned as it exited I680 onto Mission Blvd. attempting to travel in the northbound direction. The driver was alert and conscious at the scene and an ambulance responded. No other vehicles were involved.
All traffic traveling northbound on Mission Blvd. south of the collision is being forced onto northbound I680. (at McDonalds). No traffic is allowed to travel north on Mission beyond the intersection. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes for the next several hours.
Our entire Traffic Unit is tied up on this collision. We are holding over some dayshift officers to assist with traffic and we ask callers to please not call 911 unless you are reporting an emergency.
The closure is expected to last well into the evening commute. Please avoid the area if possible.
