Press Release: Ice Cream With a Cop

NARRATIVE:
On August 30th, 2017 members of the Township of Ocean Police Department hosted another “Ice Cream with a Cop” after a successful debut of the community program back in June. This time around we targeted our community outreach to some of our apartment complexes within the township. Our first stop was the Twinbrook Village complex near the pool and playground area. Our second stop was the Continental Gardens Complex at the intersection of Willow Drive and Marathon Court. The final stop for the evening was the Middlebrook at Monmouth complex near the playground area on Garden Drive.
On each of the stops participating officers and Chief Peters greeted kids of all ages and talked with the adults about various community concerns over a cone or ice pop. All three stops were well received by the residents and the program was a hit. Hosting events like this along with “Coffee with a Cop” allows us to meet the people we serve and speak to them on a one to one basis in a friendly down to earth atmosphere. We truly appreciate the continued support and look forward to more events like this as we move into the future.
