Suspect Arrested:
On Friday, August 25, 2017, during the early afternoon hours, a citizen spotted sexual assault suspect Mario Hills near the Safeway on Shattuck Avenue in the City of Berkeley. Upon seeing Hills, the citizen contacted the Berkeley Police Department. Berkeley Police officers responded to Safeway, detained Hills, and then turned him over to officers from the El Cerrito PD. Hills was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility where he is being held on attempted sexual assault charges. Hills’ bail is set at one-hundred thousand dollars. The El Cerrito Police Department would like to thank the Berkeley Police Department and the public for their assistance.
