The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

August 23rd

0742 Hours: Officer Rivas investigated an auto burglary on the 5300 block of Saint Mark Avenue. The loss is personal items.

1147 Hours: Offices responded to the 37800 block of Birch Street on a report of a disturbance. Officer Fredstrom arrested a 40-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrants. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1351 Hours: Officers responded to the area of Normandy Drive at Lido Boulevard on a report of a suspicious person. Officer Fredstrom arrested a 40-year-old male from Oakland for possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was issued a citation and released at the scene.

1521 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 32-year-old Newark male for his outstanding warrant on the 6600 block of Mirabeau Drive. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

1830 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a grab and run theft of a laptop computer at Starbucks, 5741 Stevenson Boulevard.

2042 Hours: Officer Khairy responded to a complaint of pain traffic collision involving a pedestrian that was struck by a slow moving vehicle in a business parking lot. The pedestrian declined medical treatment.

2328 Hours: Officer Rivera investigated an auto burglary on the 39800 block of Cedar Boulevard. The loss is two of the vehicles wheels.
