August 15th

Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1311 hours, an Officer was conducting extra patrol in the Safeway parking lot when he noticed a 40-year-old man enter the store carrying a large cooler. A few minutes later, the man left followed by a manager. The suspect had loaded up with approx. $191 in frozen meats. He was placed under citizen’s arrest, booked and released on a citation.

Possess Controlled Substance, Possess Stolen Property – 11545 San Pablo Ave:
At 1522 hours, an Officer noticed a 1996 Honda Accord with a stolen Toyota license plate. He contacted a 60-year-old male from Oakland in the driver’s seat. The man had a crack pipe and torch in his lap. The man admitted to putting the license plates on to avoid detection since the registration was expired in 2015. The man was also found in to be in possession of over 3 grams of base cocaine. He was arrested, booked, and released on a citation.

Warrant, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 1714 hours, an Officer contacted a 45-year-old man from Richmond who was wanted on a no cite misdemeanor warrant and is a convicted child molester who was out of compliance with his registration. He was arrested, booked, and transported to County Jail.

Resisting or Delaying an Officer, False Name to Officer – (Lucky) 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1955 hours, an Officer responded to a suspicious person at Lucky and located a 28-year-old Richmond woman inside the store with merchandise concealed upon her person. She provided several false names and tried to walk away during the investigation. Her identity was determined via fingerprints. She was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

August 16th

Battery – (Nations) 6060 Central Ave:
At 0811 hours, an Officer responded to the report of a subject who assaulted an employee. The employee was cleaning the bathroom when she was confronted by a 31-year-old male Transient. The man shoved the employee when he wasn’t allowed to use the restroom and then spit at her. He was located inside a nearby fast food restaurant bathroom. He was identified, placed under citizen’s arrest and transported to the MDF.

Warrant, Possession for Sales – S. 56th St / Madison Ave:
At 1455 hours, an Officer contacted a 19-year-old man from Kensington during a pedestrian stop. The man was wanted on an Oakland PD Warrant. He was also found in possession of base cocaine packaged for sales as well as a scale. He was arrested, booked and transported to County Jail.

Shoplifting – (Safeway) 11450, San Pablo Ave:
At about 1840 hours, two suspects filled a shopping cart with approximately $200 in merchandise and pushed it out of the store without paying. They were last seen on foot towards Del Norte BART and were described as a black male in his 30's and a black female in her 30's.

Warrant – Potrero Ave / S. 52nd St:
At 2011 hours, an Officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 24-year-old man on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to County Jail.

August 17th

Auto Burglary – (Peets) 9895 San Pablo Ave:
Between 0705 and 0715 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a briefcase contacting prescription glasses and paperwork. Loss was approximately $370.

Grand Theft – (DB Shoes) 460 EC Plaza:
At 1448 hours, an Officer responded to DB Shoes regarding a possible embezzlement. The investigation determined during the month of July, the store lost approximately 12,000 pairs of shoes, totaling approximately $173,000.

Vandalism – Jordan Ave / Tulare Ave:
An unknown suspect shattered the front driver’s door window of a vehicle. No entry or property loss reported. The incident occurred in between 8-16 at 1730 hours and 8-17 at 0730 hours.

Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest – (Safeway) 11450, San Pablo Ave:
At 1753 hours, Officers responded to a theft at Safeway. A 31-year old-man from Richmond stole $135 in meat from the store. An Officer spotted the suspect at Del Norte BART attempted to detain him. The suspect walked away and then assumed a fighting stance. The Officer used pepper spray to subdue the suspect and then took him into custody with the help of other officers. The suspect was transported and booked into MDF.

Warrant – (Del Norte BART) 6400 Cutting Blvd:
At 1816 hours, an officer recognized a 57-year-old man from Richmond and knew he was wanted on a no cite Contra Costa Warrant. The man was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported

August 18th

Warrant arrest – 11319 San Pablo Ave:
At 1601 hours, officers contacted a 29-year-old transient man and found that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest - 5200 block of Macdonald Ave:
At 1925 hours, an officer arrested a 46-year-old Brentwood female for an outstanding Contra Costa County warrant. She was cited and released.

Tampering with vehicles, Vandalism, Drunk in Public, Obstructing/Delaying Officers - 3300 block of Carlson Blvd:
At 2207 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to a report of a male trying door handles. Officers located the suspect who fled on foot briefly but was caught. The suspect was heavily intoxicated and positively identified by the RP. The suspect also caused a large scratch on the RP’s vehicle. The 30-year-old Richmond male was arrested and transported to county jail.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave/Sacramento Ave:
At 0127 hours, an officer arrested a 53-year-old female out of Richmond for 6 outstanding warrants from all over the Bay Area. She was transported to county jail.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest - Cutting Blvd/ Peerless Ave:
At 0441 hours, officers arrested a 33-year-old Richmond male for driving a stolen silver Honda Accord which was reported out of Vacaville PD. He was transported to county jail.

August 19th

Attempted burglary – 1400 block of Liberty St:
Between 1130 and 1545 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and rummaged through the interior.

Petty theft – 1300 block of Contra Costa Dr:
Between 1430 and 1630 hours, an unknown suspect stole a portion of the victim’s copper roof.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery - (Del Norte BART) 6400 Cutting Blvd:
At 1910 hours, an officer located a stolen Chevy TRAX which was reported out of Citrus Heights PD.

Shoplifting - (Lucky) 1000 EC Plaza:
At 2322 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to a theft that occurred. An officer located the suspect, a 39-year-old Richmond male, and found him in possession of the stolen property. He was booked and cited.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave / Fairmount Ave:
At 0420 hours, an officer arrested 38-year-old Berkeley female for an outstanding warrant out of Berkeley PD. She was field cited.

August 20th

Petty theft – 1700 block of Liberty St:
At 0630 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 54-year-old El Cerrito woman after she stole the neighbor’s surveillance camera from the exterior of his residence. The woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public intoxication – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1210 hours, an officer was notified of an intoxicated male inside the store. The officer located and arrested a 32-year-old transient man for being extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Misappropriation of Property - San Pablo Ave / Eastshore Blvd:
At 1914 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and found a 24-year-old male in possession of V’s registration card. A check of the registration card showed the victim’s Honda was reported stolen. Officers could not locate the vehicle. The subject was arrested, cited, and released.
