Hazardous Weather Discussion
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 2 PM through this evening in New Jersey. Heavy rains throughout the day may result in saturated ground and excessive runoff. Rainfall up to 1” is forecast statewide, with locally higher amounts of 2” this afternoon and evening. Amounts over 2” may occur in isolated areas.
Impacts to New Jersey
Localized flooding is possible in areas of heaviest and persistent rainfall. Streams and creeks may rise rapidly and significant roadway flooding is possible in some locations. Ponding may occur on roads, in low-lying areas or where drainage is poor. Visibility may be hampered when driving through heavy downpours. Monitor local alerts for flash flooding.
