There is a telephone fraud scheme claiming to be ComEd impacting Lockport 
The Lockport Police Department has received several reports regarding fraudulent claims from persons impersonating ComEd with phone calls claiming that the victims are overdue on their electric bills. The caller threatens to turn off the victim's power if payment is not made immediately using Green Dot or other prepaid debit cards.
These calls are not coming from ComEd. If you receive these calls, please hang up and call ComEd to verify the status of your account. ComEd will not require you to use a prepaid card to satisfy your bill.
