SUBJECT: Adult Male Arrested for Car Burglaries

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Police Officer Christopher Stenger along with Detective Jesse Orbach and Detective Sergeant Gregory Tongring
ACCUSED: Raul Velez 40-year-old Male // Asbury Park, New Jersey
NARRATIVE:
On August 15th, 2017 Police Officer Christopher Stenger was on patrol in the Wanamassa section of town. During his travels he observed the accused later identified as, Raul Velez acting suspicious. Velez was stopped and found to be a wanted person due to having outstanding warrants. Stenger also located stolen property on Velez and placed him under arrest.
Further investigation by Detective Sergeant Greg Tongring and Detective Jesse Orbach revealed that Velez had committed four burglaries overnight. Velez was charged with four counts of car burglary and three counts of theft. He was ultimately transported to the county jail where he’ll remain pending his initial court appearance.
