The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
August 10th
0726 Hours: Officers recovered an occupied Honda Civic that was reported stolen out of Hayward on the 37000 block of Elm Street. Officers contacted and arrested a 28 year old Hayward female for her outstanding warrants, possession of stolen property and providing false information to officers. Officers also arrested a 28 year old Newark male for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools and probation violation. Both suspects were booked into the Fremont Jail.
1622 Hours: Officer Losier contacted and arrested a 31 year old transient male for his outstanding warrant on the 5900 block of Mowry Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
2210 Hours: Officer Wang contacted and arrested a 50 year old transient male for his outstanding warrant on Newark Boulevard at Musick Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
2210 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated an auto burglary at Subway, 6179 Jarvis Avenue. The loss is laptop computer.
0017 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated an auto burglary at Wing Stop, 35030 Newark Boulevard. The loss is a backpack.
0034 Hours: Officer Ackerman contacted and arrested a 29 year old Fremont male for his outstanding warrants on Enterprise Drive at Willow Street. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
0126 Hours: Officers responded to a battery at Newark Square. The suspect fled prior Officers arriving. The investigation is ongoing.
0251 Hours: Officer Wang contacted and arrested a 31 year old Newark male for disorderly conduct. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail to be released when sober.
August 11th
1415 Hours: Officer Pacheco and Fremont Police Officers contacted and arrested a 34 year old San Jose female for a robbery that occurred in Fremont and petty theft at Burlington Coat Factory, NewPark Mall. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1530 Hours: Officer Wallace contacted and arrested a 61 year old Fremont male and 60 year old Fremont female for theft at Macys NewPark Mall. The suspects were issued a citation and released.
1555 Hours: Officer Horst investigated a battery on the 5600 block of Thornton Avenue.
2027 Hours: Officer Wallace contacted and arrested a 59 year old Newark female for false vehicle registration. The suspect was issued a citation and released. The license plates were seized and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
2057 Hours: Officer Rivera and Arroyo contacted and arrested a 25 year old transient male for drug paraphernalia on the 37200 block of Cherry Street. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
0226 Hours: Officer Simon contacted and arrested a 19 year old Campbell male for reckless driving on Campus Court at Dumbarton Court. The suspect was issued a citation and released. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded.
August 12th
1043 Hours: Officer Horst arrested a 24 year old Stockton male for his outstanding warrant at Sportsfield Park, 6800 Mowry Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1108 Hours: Officer Herbert and Musantry investigated a vehicle vandalism at NewPark Mall.
1114 Hours: Officer Hogan investigated a non-injury hit-and-run incident on the 6000 block of Rockrose Drive.
1634 Hours: Officer Herbet seized the license plates off of a vehicle for false registration on the 6019 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue.
2017 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated a non-injury hit-and-run incident on Newark Boulevard at Highway 84.
2226 Hours: Officer Rivera investigated an attempted auto burglary at Ranch 99, 35219 Newark Boulevard.
2234 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated a vehicle vandalism at the Courtyard by Marriott Newark Silicon Valley Hotel, 34905 Newark Boulevard.
0120 Hours: Officer Rivera investigated the theft of a maroon 2015 Chevrolet Camaro (License # 7HZZ758) on the 5400 block of Milani Avenue.
August 13th
1045 Hours: Officer Johnson investigated an auto burglary on the 36300 block of La Salle Drive. Some of the victim’s property has been recovered.
1518 Hours: Officer Musantry contacted and arrested a 50 year old transient male for his outstanding warrant. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
1530 Hours: Officer Johnson responded to a non-injury vehicle collision at NewPark Mall.
1618 Hours: Officer Johnson investigated the theft of a license plate on the 36200 block of Cedar Boulevard.
0025 Hours: Officers Wallace and Johnson contacted and arrested a 44 year old Newark male for possession of stolen property, displaying an unauthorized handicap placard and probation violation at Aloft Silicon Valley Hotel, 8200 Gateway Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
0708 Hours: Officer Johnson investigated the theft of a brown 2002 Nissan Sentra (License # 7LPC866) on the 36800 block of Sycamore Street.
