LOCATION: 7700 Block of McKinley, Highland

SUSPECT: Calvin Treadway, age 49 a resident of Highland

VICTIM: Jamie Hawkins, age 20 a resident of San Bernardino

SUMMARY:
On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at about 8:45 am, deputies from the Highland Police Department responded to the 7700 block of McKinley Street following the report of a male victim down in the driveway of the apartment complex. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Jamie Hawkins, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded to the location and transported the victim to a local area hospital.

Deputies were advised by witnesses that the victim, Jamie Hawkins, was visiting friends at the complex and parked his vehicle where he was blocking other vehicles from leaving. The suspect, Calvin Treadway, who lives in a trailer at the rear of the location, confronted Hawkins and told him to move his car. Treadway became upset that Hawkins’ vehicle was blocking his in the driveway, and he needed to leave so he could take his father to church. Hawkins and Treadway argued and it turned into a physical fight. Hawkins punched Treadway to push him away from him. Treadway retrieved a handgun, pointed it at Hawkins and fired the gun, striking Hawkins in the throat. After shooting the victim, Calvin Treadway and his father left in a gold Toyota Camry.

Calvin Treadway is considered to be armed and dangerous, and is a documented gang member. Deputies obtained a Ramey warrant for the arrest of Calvin Treadway for Attempted Murder.
