The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:50 a.m. this morning of a person shot and killed at a residence near Double Bridges Road and Dixie Highway in Madison, Georgia.

The unidentified male caller stated he killed his mother and would shoot any law enforcement officials he encountered. A containment perimeter was immediately established and efforts to contact the telephone number the call came from were to no avail.

Investigators subsequently established contact with family members associated with the residence and learned there was no one shot nor in imminent danger inside. A search of the residence confirmed no one was victimized at the residence.

Leads are being pursued in an effort to hold the individuals(s) responsible for this “hoax” incident.
