Car/Pedestrian crash on Waubee Lake Rd and N SR 15 in construction zone. Pedestrian transported to hospital. 
On August 09th, 2017 at 11:22 am the Milford Police Department was called the intersection of N SR 15 and Waubee Lake Rd regarding a car pedestrian crash.
Waubee Lake Rd. was closed for road re-surfacing by the Kosciusko County Highway Department. A vehicle started to turn onto Waubee Lake Rd and the driver William Baxter, 61 of N. Manchester; saw the closure sign and the Kosciusko County Highway truck blocking the west bound lane but did not see the flagman. When William Baxter observed the flagman, Matt Oler, 54 of Warsaw, it was too late to avoid a collision.
The Blue 2015 Chevy Colorado pickup truck came into contact Matt Oler and then drove over his legs. Lutheran EMS was on scene when Milford Police and Fire Departments arrived on scene. Medics stabilized Matt Oler and then transported him to KCH with non-life-threatening injuries.
Drivers are asked to maintain extra vigilance when entering any construction zones. Always be prepared to stop, and treat every construction zone as if workers are present.
