Juveniles Arrested for Robbery on a Trolley in La Mesa
On July 5, 2017, at 1:00 pm, a teenaged male was riding the Trolley from the City of San Diego, when it arrived at the Amaya Trolley Station, in the City of La Mesa. A group of juvenile males approached the juvenile victim. One of the males asked the victim for the time. When the victim pulled out his cell phone to check the time, the male grabbed the phone and fled. When the victim stood up to protect himself, a second male stepped into his path, lifted his shirt, which exposed the handle of a handgun, and threatened the victim. The group of males then exited the Trolley car.
La Mesa Police Detectives immediately began investigating the robbery. During the investigation, detectives identified two suspects. On July 14, 2017, a 14 year old was arrested for robbery. On July 18, 2017, a 17 year old was arrested for robbery. Both were booked into Juvenile Hall.
