Calgary Fire Near Wofford Heights - Evacuation Update

Este es un mensaje de la seguridad. Para espanol, llame a 211. Gracias. // This is an update to an earlier ReadyKern message concerning the Calgary Fire near Wofford Heights. // The evacuation recommendation for the Wofford Heights area has been updated as follows: // The Calgary Tract area remains under a RECOMMENDED evacuation. A recommended evacuation means that the fire is an imminent threat and all persons in the evacuation area are strongly advised to leave and seek shelter away from the fire area. A recommended evacuation will likely be the last warning given. // The recommended evacuation for Sierra Vista Drive west to Calgary Tract has been downgraded to a PRECAUTIONARY evacuation. A precautionary evacuation means that the Calgary Fire may again become a threat to the area from Sierra Vista Drive west to Calgary Tract in the future, and all residents are advised to be prepared to again leave the area at a moment’s notice if it becomes necessary. // The recommended evacuations for the following areas have been LIFTED: // East of Sierra Vista Drive, including Old State Road, AND the area west of Calgary Tract. // Fire Department staff, vehicles, and equipment remain in the area. Residents should exercise appropriate caution around them. // Residents are also advised that although there may not currently be active fire where they are, there is still a possibility that fire could rekindle due to windy conditions. Residents should be alert recognizing that a large portion of the fire is still uncontained and remain aware of their surroundings. // The evacuation center that has been set up at the Kern River Valley Senior Citizens Center remains open for residents wishing to seek shelter there. Animal Services is assisting with sheltering companion animals at the center. // If you have an emergency, call 911. If you have any questions about the content of this message, please contact Kern County Information and Referral Services at 2-1-1. Thank you.
