The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Wayne County in southeastern Michigan...

* Until 745 PM EDT

* At 448 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area, and will also significantly impact traffic during the afternoon peak travel period.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Livonia, Taylor, Romulus, Flat Rock, Grosse Pointe, Downtown Detroit, Canton, Detroit, Dearborn, Wyandotte, Trenton, Grosse Ile, Belleville, Westland, Dearborn Heights, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Allen Park, Garden City and Inkster.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WAYNE

Instructions:

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
