Sheriff Victor Hill's Crime Suppression Unit Removes Drugs And Guns From The Streets With Strategic Road Blocks
This weekend past, Sheriff Victor Hill's Crime Suppression Unit conducted a Road Safety Check at Tara Rd and Old Town Court. A 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Delmar Lavelle McConnal entered the checkpoint area which had an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. McConnal admitted to smoking marijuana, but a search of the vehicle revealed so much more. Deputies Cummings and Kennedy who are two of our newest crime fighters discovered 317.2 grams of marijuana, 36.7 grams of ecstasy, powder cocaine, unknown pills, a digital scale, sandwich bags used for distribution, $5,771.00 in cash, and a loaded firearm. McConnal is a convicted felon who should not be in possession of any firearms and as a result, he now faces the wall at Georgia's toughest para-military jail.
The Sheriff has ordered daily road checks until dangerous violent criminals learn to fear, and avoid driving through Clayton County.
