On July 30, 2017, at 2:17 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith conducted a traffic stop on a Blue 2009 Chevy Malibu for driving left of center on Main Street. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver 46 year old Traci Patterson of Princeton, Indiana. At that point Deputy Smith called for assistance from an on duty deputy and he and Deputy Ben Kiesel began a roadside DUI investigation. At the end of the investigation Deputy Kiesel placed Ms. Patterson into custody and transported her to the Gibson County Jail. At the Gibson County Jail Ms. Patterson was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. She has since posted a $650 bond.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
