Flood Warning until 05:00PM Sunday

...Forecast Flooding Changed from Minor to Moderate Severity for the following rivers in West Virginia... Opequon Creek near Martinsburg affecting Berkeley and Jefferson Counties ...Moderate flooding expected at Opequon Creek near Martinsburg... ...Forecast flooding increased from Minor to Moderate severity...The Flood Warning continues for The Opequon Creek near Martinsburg.

* Until Sunday afternoon.

* At 2 PM Saturday the stage was 12.4 feet and rising.

* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Recent activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2 PM Saturday was 12.4 feet.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 13.4 feet by early this evening. The river will fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning .

* Impact...At 12.5 feet...The creek is well out of its banks with lowlands nearby flooded. Golf Course Road /County Road 36/ is flooded near the Van Metre Ford Pedestrian Bridge. Fields and backyards near the creek are flooded and some residents may need to move items to higher ground. Several other roads are flooded, including Grapevine Road, Douglas Grove Road, and Paynes Ford Road. Backwater flooding is occurring on small tributaries, including Tuscarora Creek.
