Hazardous Weather Discussion
A low pressure system will bring severe weather to our area today through Saturday. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the southern half of New Jersey from 2 PM today through Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts of 2” to 4” are forecast with higher amounts possible from locally heavy downpours. A Gale Watch is in effect for coastal waters from late tonight through late Saturday night.
Impacts to New Jersey
Heavy rainfall may result in fast-rising water in creeks and streams. Flooding and ponding may occur on roads and in low-lying areas, urban areas and places subject to frequent flooding. Localized road closures may occur. Areas in South Jersey that experienced heavy rains within the past week are particularly vulnerable. Visibility on roads may be hampered during heavy downpours.
