The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

July 25th

0906 Hours: Officer Wang investigated an abandoned vehicle with expired registration at Carter Station, 7356 Thornton Avenue. The vehicle was towed and the registered owner was notified.

0914 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated an identity theft that was discovered when a fraudulent wireless phone account was created using the victim’s personal information. No loss was reported. As a precaution, frequently check your personal accounts to reduce the chance of being a victim of identity theft.

1443 Hours: Officer Herbert responded to a non-injury vehicle collision on Mowry Avenue at Cedar Boulevard.

1718 Hours: Officer Mapes investigated a grand theft by fraudulent means. The loss is $2,100.

1937 Hours: Officer Geser contacted and arrested a 43 year old Newark female for her outstanding warrants on the 36200 block of Crystal Springs Drive. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

2017 Hours: Officer Khairy contacted and arrested a 55 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on the 5800 block of Ravenwood Ave. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
