Elderly Male Injured During Attempted Home Invasion Robbery

LOCATION: 7100 block of Devon Avenue, Highland
SUSPECT(S): 2 black males in an older, white, compact sedan
SUMMARY: On Saturday, July 22, 2017, at approximately 9:11 am, deputies from the Highland Police Department were advised that a home invasion had occurred at a residence in the 7100 block of Devon Avenue earlier in the morning. The reporting party stated that the elderly victim was at his workbench in his garage, with the large garage door open, when a black male entered the open garage and attacked the victim from behind, knocking him to the ground. The suspect ran off when the victim yelled for a family member that was inside the house. The suspect left in the vehicle which the victim described as possibly an older Honda sedan. The victim received several cuts and bruises and needed stitches for injuries to his head.
Deputies are looking for any assistance the public may have to help identify the suspects or the vehicle in this brutal and senseless attack. Anyone who observed persons or a vehicle matching this description in the neighborhood, or who may have related surveillance video or pictures is asked to contact the Highland Police Department.
