Flood Advisory until 02:45AM Sunday

...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT FOR SOUTHEASTERN HUNTERDON...NORTHERN MERCER...SOUTHERN SOMERSET... NORTHEASTERN MONMOUTH...MIDDLESEX AND NORTHEASTERN BUCKS COUNTIES... At 1053 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated between one and two inches of rain has already fallen. This heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding in poor drainage areas in the advisory area. Some locations that could experience flooding include... New Brunswick, Long Branch, Sandy Hook, Somerset, Middletown, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Marlboro, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Princeton, Red Bank, Keansburg, Matawan, Byram, Jamesburg and Highlands.

Instructions:

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. This Flood Advisory is set to expire at 1115 PM and will be replaced by another Flood Advisory that is in effect through 245 AM.
