Scattered thunderstorms will begin to develop later this afternoon as the first of multiple disturbances makes its way into the area. These storms may be severe with heavy downpours and potentially damaging winds gusts between 30 and 50 miles per hour. The best threat for severe weather is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The main threat for heavy rain and flooding will be between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. Heavy downpours with 1-2 inch per hour rainfall rates could result in localized 1.50 - 3 inch and above amounts, leading to poor drainage and roadway flash flooding. Damaging wind gusts are still possible though it should occur early on.
Please use caution while driving this evening into tonight. Remember, avoid roads that are already flooded.
