On July 22, 2017, at 4:23 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a suspicious vehicle near White Church on County Road 250 West. The concerned citizen reported to Gibson County Dispatch that the driver of the vehicle was pulled to the side of the roadway and was not moving.

Sgt. John Fischer and Princeton Sergeant Steve McNeece arrived on scene and identified the driver as 49 year old Ronnie L. Smith of Francisco, Indiana. While speaking with Mr. Smith Sgt. Fischer detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver and began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of Sgt. Fischer’s investigation Mr. Smith was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (DUI.) Mr. Smith remains in custody on a $650 bond.
