On July 16, 2017, at approximately 7:00 a.m. Fremont patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Mission Blvd. and Pickering Ave to investigate an arson. The homeowner reported that sometime during the night an unknown person came onto their property and burned an American flag hanging on the front of their house. Police crime scene investigators and Fremont Fire responded to collect evidence.
During the initial investigation, officers located several residences in the area with video cameras. Video evidence obtained shows a vehicle of interest near the residence at approximately 3:50 a.m. The vehicle pulls to the curb and a subject exits the car and sprints up to the house. Several seconds later, the subject is seen running back to the vehicle before it flees the area. In an effort to solve this case, we are providing the video clip that best depicts the vehicle. The vehicle is a light colored, possibly silver, newer model (2016 or 2017) Honda Civic 4-door with dark tinted rear windows. The time stamp on the video attached is off by one hour.
