The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

July 20th

0937 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 38 year old transient male for parole violation on the 34700 block of Ardenwood Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0958 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 53 year old transient male for possessing drug paraphernalia on the 34700 block of Ardenwood Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1012 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 29 year old transient male for providing false identification to an officer, possessing burglary tools and an outstanding warrant on the 34700 block of Ardenwood Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1231 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 52 year old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia on the corner of Derby Place and Edgewater Drive. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

1303 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 52 year old Newark male for possessing drug paraphernalia while performing a probation search on the 4900 block of Derby Place. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

1503 Hours: Officer Horst contacted and arrested a 38 year old Newark male for possession of a controlled substance on the 5400 block of Thornton Avenue. The suspect was issued a citation and released.

2110 Hours: Officer Cervantes responded to a battery call at the Amazon facility on Cherry Street involving two truck drivers. A 45 year old Sacramento male was arrested for battery and booked into the Fremont Jail.

0102 Hours: Officer Wang investigated a non-injury solo vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Jarvis Avenue and Newark Boulevard
