As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of the citizens of Jackson, the Jackson Police Department will be performing Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement throughout the city this Saturday and Sunday.
 
There will be a Sobriety Checkpoint on Sunday, 23 July 2017, from 0030 until 0200 on North Parkway just east of North Royal, and one Sunday, 23 July 2017 from 0225 until 0345 in the 1000 block of the US 45 By-Pass.
 
During these Sobriety Checkpoints and increased traffic enforcement, officers will concentrate their efforts on removing impaired drivers from the roadways.   However, as non-compliance with the safety belt and child restraint laws place people in danger these laws will be vigorously enforced as well.
