The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.
July 13th
0916 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 30 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on the 37000 block of Walnut Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail. Officer Fredstrom also contacted and arrested 42 year old Newark female for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
0939 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 31 year old Newark male for driving without a license on Sycamore Street at Carter Avenue. The suspect was issued a citation and released.
1244 Hours: Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 26 year old Rocklin female for her outstanding warrants on Blackburn Drive at Lake Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1258 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 28 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1426 Hours: Sergeant Eriksen and Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 42 year old Magalia male for petty theft and probation violation in the NewPark Mall parking lot. The Officer’s also arrested a 40 year old Oakland female for petty theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violation. Both suspects were booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
1537 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 50 year old transient male for his outstanding warrants on the 7300 block of Thornton Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
1930 Hours: Officers investigated a single vehicle crash at Sycamore Street at Dairy Avenue. The driver was transported to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.
1955 Hours: Officers investigated an auto versus pedestrian accident in the Newark Buffet parking lot, 35201 Newark Boulevard. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
2258 Hours: Officer Ackerman contacted and arrested a 24 year old Perris male for reckless driving in the Mi Pueblo parking lot, 35156 Newark Boulevard. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
July 14th
0049 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated the theft of a 2007 white Ford F250 (License # 8G03504) on the 36000 block of Port Tidewood Street.
0921 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 32 year old transient male for his outstanding warrants and resisting arrest on Cedar Court at Cedar Boulevard. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1725 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 26 year old Newark female for possession of drug paraphernalia on Sycamore Street at Carter Avenue. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
2152 Hours: Officer Slavazza responded to Macy’s NewPark Mall for a shoplifter in custody. Officer Slavazza arrested a 31 year old Oakland male for petty theft. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
2031 Hours: Officers Johnson and Howcroft recovered a stolen Nissan Maxima on the 39900 block of Cedar Boulevard. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.
July 15th
0503 Hours: Officer Johnson contacted and arrested a 34 year old Vallejo male for his outstanding warrants on the 39200 block of Cedar Boulevard. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
0819 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated the theft of a white 1999 Honda Civic (License # 4HLD908) at the Double Tree Hotel, 39900 Balentine Drive.
1014 Hours: Officer Herbert contacted and arrested a 33 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on the 37000 block of Walnut Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1405 Hours: Officer Herbert contacted and arrested a 30 year old Hayward male for possession of drug paraphernalia on the 39900 block of Balentine Drive. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
2147 Hours: Officer Slavazza contacted and arrested a 24 year old Newark male for public intoxication on the 37000 block of Elm Street. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
0437 Hours: Officer Pacheco contacted and arrested a 22 year old Newark male for driving under the influence on Thornton Avenue at Sycamore Street. The suspect was cited and released to a sober adult.
July 16th
1316 Hours: Officer Jackman contacted and arrested a 36 year old Newark male for his outstanding warrants on Thornton Avenue near Dondero Way. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1316 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 37 year old Fremont male for his outstanding warrants and providing false information to a Peace Officer on Thornton Avenue near Dondero Way. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1652 Hours: While conducting a security check at the Newark Overpass and Highway 84 area, Officer Jackman contacted and arrested a 38 year old Newark male for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was cited and released at the scene.
1730 Hours: Officer Rivera investigated a battery on a person at Swiss Park, 5911 Mowry Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
0213 Hours: Officer Johnson recovered a 1999 Honda Civic that was reported stolen out of San Jose on the 5900 block of Mowry Avenue. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.
