National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch for Lincoln County Missouri from Tuesday until Saturday.  It is predicted that heat indexes may reach 113 degrees by Tuesday afternoon, and stay dangerously high through Saturday.  People who are above age 65, have chronic health conditions, work outdoors, young children, participate in outdoor sports, and pets may be more at risk of heat-related illness.  Stay indoors if you can.  If you must be outside today, please use the following tips:

  • Limit outdoor activities
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Wear light clothing
  • Wear sunscreen
  • Work outdoors early or very late in the day
