7/14 – 3:54 a.m. – A Millstadt Officer was conducting a routine business check at Mon-Clair Animal Hospital, when he discovered a vehicle had crashed into the business’ fence, and was on it’s side. The vehicle was smoking and the occupant was partially out of the vehicle. The officer pulled the occupant, who was conscious and yelling for help, away from the vehicle. Millstadt EMS and Millstadt Fire Department responded. The occupant was transported to a St. Louis area hospital with apparent broken bones and other minor injuries. An examination of the crash scene revealed the driver apparently missed the curve while travelling eastbound in the 300 block of East Washington Avenue. The vehicle then glanced off a large tree in the yard of a residence, in the 400 block of East Washington Avenue. The vehicle continued to travel through a vacant lot, and at some point overturned, landing in the fence. The crash remains under investigation.
