#020 Warrant Arrest for Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Offcer Goepp secured a Ramey warrant for the arrest of Antonio Salvador Esquivel (M42) for assault with a deadly weapon stemming from an attack that occurred on June 21 in the 37100 block of Niles Blvd. On June 10, Officer Tucker learned about the warrant and located Esquivel on Ironhorse and arrested him for the warrant. Officer Goepp responded to interview Esquivel and is sending the case for charging.
#010 Residential Burglary
At 9:34 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Amiens Ave to investigate the report of a residential burglary. The victim reported that someone was in their backyard. Officers responded with lights and siren to the residence. Upon arrival, the victim advised the suspect was seen leaving in a white min-van. Officers learned that the suspect had initially rang the doorbell to the home, but the victim did not answer. The victim then looked through an exterior window and saw the suspect in her bakyard. She screamed and the suspect ran to the van and fled.
Suspect Info: Black male adult, approximately 20 years old, 6'1-6'2, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Suspect last seen leaving the area in a white mini-van.
#024 Possession of a Controlled Substance
At 3:33 p.m., Officer Kwok conducted a pedestrian stop near Frobisher Dr and San Pedro Dr on Javier Iniguez (M56). Officer Kwok found methamphetamine in Iniguez’ pocket. He was arrested and booked at Fremont Detention Facility.
#025 Possession of a controlled substance – 170710025:
At 3:50 p.m., Officer Rose conducted a pedestrian stop at Blacow Road and Hansen Ave on probationer David Potts (M35). Potts possessed methamphetamine and was arrested and booked at Fremont Detention Facility for possession and a probation violation.
#026 Unlicensed Driver
At 4:17 p.m., Officer Berrier conducted a traffic stop at Thornton Ave and San Pedro Dr. The driver was unlicensed. He was cited and released.
#028 Resisting Arrest
At 5:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to 5 corners (Irvington) on the report of a drunk male fighting with employees at Safeway and another call of a male looking into vehicles at the Burger King. Officer Macciola located the subject Alexis Miller (M39) during an area check. Miller was immediately non-compliant and tried to walk away. After a brief struggle, he was arrested and booked at SRJ for resisting arrest.
#034 Attempted Robbery
At 8:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to Safeway Warm Springs for a possible armed robbery. Officer Blanchet and Officer Godrich investigated and found the victim was driving through the parking lot when the suspect crossed in front of the victim’s vehicle and approached the driver’s window. The suspect said, “give it up,” and appeared to reach for his pocket to grab an object. The victim sped off and called FPD. There was no loss. Area checks were negative. No video was obtained. The suspect was described as a black male adult, 20-30 years old, short dark hair, black jacket, black pants, wearing a surgical mask, no gun was seen.
#035 Armed Robbery
At 9:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to Payless Shoes at the Hub to investigate an armed robbery. Officer DeStefano investigated and found the suspect entered the business and when at the register to “purchase” items, he grabbed money out of the register and showed the grip of a pistol. He fled on foot. Area checks were negative. Officer DeStefano obtained video and is in the process of reviewing it.
The suspect was described as a black male adult, 30-40 years old, 5’6”/180lbs, bald, wearing a white shirt with lettering, navy zip up sweater, and blue jeans.
#039 Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officer Godrich and FTO Layfield conducted a pedestrian stop on Stacey Owens (F47) in front of a business in the 46800 block of Mission Blvd. Owens was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

#028 Possession of a Controlled Substance
At 4:16 p.m., Officer San Luis stopped Rene Briseno (M28) near Tamayo St and Fremont Blvd. Briseno was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false ID to a police officer.
#029 Petty Theft
Officers responded to an in-progress theft at Fry’s Electronics Store, located on the 43800 block of Osgood Rd to investigate a theft. A store employee told officers an unknown male had stolen a camera and headphones. The suspect left the store and employees did not pursue because in two past instances, the same suspect had a knife with him. Officers located a suspect matching the description on the east sidewalk of Osgood Road, just south of the gas station. A pedestrian stop was initiated and the male was taken into custody. He was arrested for petty theft and for a probation violation.
Officers responded to two mental health calls during the day.
